ABOUT TRAINING DAY+
Who we are. Why we do the work.Â
JASON
Jason isn’t loud.
He doesn’t explain himself twice.
And he doesn’t say much. When he does, he meant it and he assumed you were listening.
He’s obsessed with pigs. He loves kids. He loves to win. And he hates the idea of being average.
For two decades, Jason has built one of the most successful show pig programs in the nation by focusing on the work that actually moves the needle: selection, feeding, management, and consistency. He isn’t interested in shortcuts, hype, or selling people what they want to hear. He will actually tell you the opposite in order to manage expectations. He’s interested in doing things the right way and doing them well.
Jason isn’t a natural communicator. He doesn’t enjoy small talk, and he keeps his emotions internal, which means he’s not always easy to read. What he is is deeply committed to the livestock, to the kids, and to the process. He appreciates people who listen, apply what they’re taught, and take responsibility for the outcome.
He doesn’t know what else he’d do with his life if he wasn’t doing exactly this. And it shows.
WHYÂ TRAINING DAY+
The stock show world doesn’t come with a roadmap and it’s hard. It’s emotional, unpredictable and full of ups and downs. And at the end of all of the work, it’s up to one man’s opinion.
There’s no “club ball,” no offseason league, and no clear system for learning how to feed and prepare competitive livestock. Most families are willing to work—they just don’t always know where to start.
Training Day+ was created to bring structure, clarity, and honest education to that gap. Not guarantees. Not promises. Just practical guidance based on real experience.
This platform is built for families who want to learn, do the work, and get better over time—without feeling like they’re supposed to already have it all figured out.
AND ME...
I’m Jackie Lackey, Jason’s wife and his partner in building Training Day+. I’m also the mom of Weston and Grant, which keeps the work personal.
I’m a marketer by trade and a communicator by nature. I care deeply about kids, families, and the future of the stock show world. I believe more people should show livestock, and I believe education should be accessible without being watered down.
My role here is simple: to help translate Jason’s wisdom and experience into clear, usable education without changing who he is or what he believes.
Everything you’ll find inside Training Day+ is built around his standards, his thinking, and the way he approaches the work.
It’s important to me that the message stays true to him. Always.
OUR STANDARD
We believe:
– Most people want to do the work
– Preparation matters more than talent
– Consistency beats intensity
– Sharing knowledge strengthens the industry
We also believe you should show up as yourself.
You don’t need to be polished or pretend to know more than you do. Questions are part of the process, and effort matters more than presentation.
This community is made up of people from all walks of life. Different backgrounds and different paths into the stock show world, but a shared commitment to the work. What connects us isn’t how we look, where we came from, or how long we’ve been doing this. It’s how we show up.
We value intention, loyalty, and doing things the right way even when it’s hard. We work hard, we care deeply, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. The culture here wasn’t manufactured. It was built over time, through shared miles, long days, and showing up again tomorrow.
